Your location history never leaves your phone or computer. We never see it. This page says exactly what that means, and what does travel.

What stays on your device

• Your Timeline file. You choose it in the browser; the browser reads it in the open tab and never uploads it. Closing the tab clears it.
• The places, dates and streets in it, and the poster drawn from them. Everything is computed on your device.
• Saved prints, if you use them. A saved print is a list of street identifiers from the public street map plus your design, kept in this browser's storage. It is not sent anywhere. You can delete any print, or all of them, from the start page. A project file you download is the same record, in a file you keep.

What does travel

• The street map of the city you choose. walked downloads it from walked.city to your device. The request names the city, nothing else. Street data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, openstreetmap.org/copyright.
• Your payment, if you buy a print file. The checkout is run by Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record. They see your email, your card or PayPal details and your billing country, and they send the receipt. They never see your history or your poster. Their privacy policy: lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
• Your license key. After a purchase your browser keeps the key and checks it with Lemon Squeezy when you export a print, so the count of prints is right. The key and a short label for the print are all that is sent.
• Ordinary web traffic. walked.city is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare sees the usual request data (your IP address, browser, the pages and files requested) to deliver the site and protect it. We do not add analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and we set no tracking cookies.

What we never do

• Upload, store or look at your location history or your poster.
• Sell or share data. There is nothing of yours on our side to share.
• Require an account. Saved prints and purchases work without one.

Your choices

• Use the free preview without buying anything; nothing about you is recorded.
• Delete saved prints any time from the start page, or clear this site's data in your browser.
• Ask Lemon Squeezy to delete your customer record through the link in your receipt.
